Tides Foundation
Awards SAVE and O.U.T. $150,000

SAVE Foundation is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a $150,000 grant in collaboration with O.U.T. Federation by Tides Foundation's State Equality Fund, a philanthropic partnership that includes the Evelyn and Walter Haas Jr. Fund, the Gill Foundation, and anonymous donors.

The grant will fuel SAVE Foundation's End Discrimination Training, which plans to bring about statewide civil rights protections for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) individuals. The 3-year initiative aims to amend the Florida Civil Rights Act to include sexual orientation and gender identity under its protected groups, protecting LGBT Floridians from
discrimination in employment, public housing, accommodations, and services.

STATE WIDE

Be a Part of History...

In the last few months, you've heard a lot about redistricting, the once-a-decade process in which state legislators get to redraw the lines of Congressional and legislative districts in Florida.  With no guidelines or standards in the Florida Constitution for drawing these districts, legislators have used the system to rig the districts in order to preserve and perpetuate their own power.  It's a process the Orlando Sentinel recently called "the dirty little secret of modern politics."
