SAVE Dade is asking for your opinion as we endorse candidates

Dear friend/partner/supporter:

An important part of SAVE Dade's efforts is to endorse candidates in our local elections with the purpose of electing people that are supportive of LGBT issues and the mission of SAVE Dade.  Our endorsement process involves a completed questionnaire submitted by each interested candidate seeking the endorsement of SAVE Dade. In addition, the candidates must participate in an interview with the respective endorsement panel. The panel, which consists of SAVE Dade volunteers, board members, and to the extent possible, a constituent from the respective municipality, makes a recommendation to SAVE Dade's Executive Committee endorsing a candidate. This recommendation is based on information received from the written questionnaire, the in-person interview and any other relevant information gathered by the endorsement panel. Another factor contributing to the endorsement recommendation is the opinion or information received from you, our supporters.

Towards this end, we ask you to provide us with any relevant information and input you may possess with regards to the candidates running for office in your municipality by no later than Tuesday, March 24, 2009 by 5:00 PM to savedade@savedade.org. We'd appreciate your name and contact information is case of any follow up questions; however, feel free to leave an anonymous email.

Please know that your opinion and information received is very important to us, but as described above, it is one of many other important factors considered in the process of our endorsements, and the final decision on endorsements rests with SAVE Dade's Executive Committee. We very much appreciate your time and input and look forward to hearing from you.
