Walk with SAVE to end AIDS

The 21st Annual AIDS Walk Miami is almost here! Join SAVE Dade and other LGBT community groups as we walk together on Sunday, April 19th in Miami Beach and unite with thousands in the fight to end HIV/AIDS.

The Walk benefits Care Resources and Food for Life Network Food Bank, providing services to over 9,000 South Floridians affected/infected with HIV/AIDS. Funds collected by Care Resources allow the agency to continue its initiative of providing HIV/AIDS education, prevention, primary medical care, psychosocial services and community outreach in Miami-Dade and
Broward, among other services.

VOLUNTEER

Build your resume by volunteering

Are you a college student and want to refine your career skills with real-world experience before graduation? Why not do so while fighting for LGBT equality? SAVE Dade is now offering internship opportunities to students who wish to take initiative in any of the various functions of a not-for-profit organization.

While SAVE Dade deals closely with politics and communications to propel its message of LGBT equality forward, there is a great deal of other behind-the-scenes roles that keep us running. Students have an open door at SAVE Dade to become involved in their community, take ownership in a piece of the organization, build knowledge on how not-for-profit groups work and add experience onto their resumes.

Show Your Pride With SAVE

SAVE Dade is going to have a very active and exciting presence the

weekend of the Miami Beach Gay Pride Festival. We will co-present the Friday night event,"FruitCocktail", and participate in AIDS Walk Miami on Sunday. In addition on Saturday, April 18th we will be marching in the parade and exhibiting at the PROUD Festival & Expo of this milestone event. During the entire weekend we will be recruiting volunteers and distributing educational material on the fight for LGBT equality as the city celebrates its first official pride
event in years.

"PROUD" was fittingly chosen as this year's theme, as pride is sure to radiate from all corners of the seaside streets of Miami Beach on April 18th like never before. Backed by Miami Beach Mayor Matti Bower, the city will officially kick-off honoring its LGBT community with the Inaugural Miami Beach Gay Pride Parade. Festive floats, decked out cars and groups of colorful, pride-happy LGBT people and allies will roll down Ocean Drive between 5th and 15th Street beginning at noon.

OPERATIONS

SAVE Dade is consolidating its base

If you've been to the SAVE Dade headquarters then you know that we have a surplus of office space. Square footage we want to eliminate which in turn we cut as a cost from our budget. Whereas office space is an organizational need, it is our responsibility to do more with less in the current economy.

As a result we are moving our headquarters to a smaller and economically sound location. In order to facilitate the move we need the help of a professional moving company that can contribute their time and services. Moving can be expensive and in our case, counter intuitive to our operating goals. If you own or work for a moving company, or are relatives or friends with someone that is, please contact us, at (305) 751-7283, or savedade@savedade.org. With your help SAVE Dade can seamlessly change our location in a cost effective manner.
