SAVE GUARDIAN SOCIETY PASSES THE TORCH OF LEADERSHIP
Robin Schwartz & Eddie Padilla Take Co-Chair Reigns from Mark Steinberg & John Messer

Miami, FL (Send to Friend) - The SAVE Guardian Society is proud to welcome its two new Co-Chairs, Eddie Padilla and Robin Schwartz. Thank you for the tremendous contributions of outgoing Co-Chairs, Mark Steinberg and John Messer.

Robin and Eddie have big shoes to fill and are up for the challenge. Mark and John led the Champions of EqualitySociety from its start twoyears ago to where it is today - a 90-member strong SAVE community of major donors. The new team seeks to maintain current members via renewals and grow the membership base.

Robin Schwartz, a long-time SAVE supporter and community leader, is a mortgage banker with JP Morgan Chase. Among other organizations, she serves on the board of directors of the Aqua Foundation for Women and is a Young Founder of the Mount Sinai Medical Center Foundation.

Eddie Padilla, is a founding member of Safeguarding American Values for Everyone and has been involved as a volunteer and supporter ever since. Eddie works for the City of Miami as a Neighborhood Enhancement Team Administrator.

Created in 2006, the Guardian Society established a permanent donor community for SAVE. With giving levels ranging from $1,000 to $10,000, Guardian members join an exclusive donor group that funds SAVE's vital work for the LGBT community of Miami-Dade County. Make a big difference by joining SAVE's Guardian Society today. Call SAVE at 305-751-SAVE (7283) and ask for Heddy Peña or email her at heddy@savedade.org for more information.

HOUSE FUNDRAISING PARTIES RELAUNCH TO FIGHT AMENDMENT 2
Herbert Brito House Party Exceeds Expectations. Help SAVE: Host Your Own Party Soon.

BritoCoconut Grove, FL (Send to Friend) - SAVE supporter, Herbert Brito, knew he had to make a big impact to help defeat Amendment 2, the anti-gay marriage measure on Florida's November ballot.  "Bringing together, into your home, friends and colleagues with the real potential to give is an essential fundraising and community awareness tool for SAVE," says Herbert.

"House parties mobilize the community in a festive atmosphere, raise awareness about critical LGBT issues, provide an audience of potential donors, and create an opportunity for hosts to connect with their family, friends and co-workers," says Carlos Hernandez, Associate Director of SAVE. "More importantly, we raise significant funds on the spot."

Herbert's SAVE House Party, held in May at his Coconut Grove home, brought together 55 of his close friends and associates. The two hour party with cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, light music, great company, and guest speaker, Billy Bean, raised more than $4,600.  "Twenty house parties like Herbert's can make a huge impact to help defeat Amendment 2," says Carlos.  "We look forward to others in the community coming forward to host their own events."

Host your own SAVE House Party! Call 305-751-SAVE (7283) and ask for Carlos Hernandez or email him at carlos@savedade.org to find out more.
