Still in outrage about the passing of Amendment 2 and other anti-gay laws that currently exist in the state legislature, Florida’s gay-rights supporters are expected to make the journey to “Rally in Tally” on March 16, demonstrating their determination for change.
Headed by Equality Florida, Rally in Tally unites LGBT organizations and supporters to make their voices heard on the steps of the capitol building. Because of last year’s efforts, Florida Legislature passed the Safe Schools Law, an anti-bullying policy.
This year, SAVE Dade will join the Rally in Tally and ban together in support of bills that repeal Florida’s gay adoption ban, create domestic partnerships in the state, protect LGBT Floridians from housing and employment discrimination, and end all violence against the LGBT community. Aside from the rally on Monday, March 16, supporters will lobby elected officials throughout the week, holding them accountable for the rights and protections demanded by Florida’s LGBT community and their families.
