The opposition is short 22,000 signatures from what they need to qualify the Marriage Amendment for the Florida Ballot; however, they still have until the end of the month to get the signatures they need to get this anti-gay measure on the ballot in November.  Though we are hopeful, now more than ever, we need to be prepared.  We need to get the word out to defeat this measure that would not only prohibit same-sex marriage rights, but also civil unions and basic protections for all unmarried couples, straight and gay.  This amendment would even take away rights already received by some couples through domestic partnership registries!  Unfortunately, twenty-seven other states have passed similar amendments because people who oppose them do not realize the urgency until it is too late.  With only ten months left, our community needs to come together and act!  If you want to defeat this hateful Amendment, the time to VOLUNTEER is now!

1.      Volunteer on Election Day, January 29, 2007!

The Presidential Primary Election is one of our best opportunities to go out to the polls to identify supporters and recruit volunteers!  We need you to volunteer from 7 am - 7 pm.   We also have 3-hour shifts if necessary.
